Introduction
What Mandali is and how it is organized.
Mandali is the operating system for volunteer-run festival committees and community associations. It brings the work of a festival season into one workspace: planning days and meals, selling tickets, collecting money, tracking expenses and checking people in, with every change recorded.
Who Mandali is for#
Mandali is built for committees that run a festival or a series of community events every year, for example a Durga Puja, a Navratri Garba, a Ganesh Utsav or a Diwali Mela. These committees share a few traits that most event tools ignore:
- The team changes every year. Access must follow roles, not shared passwords, and the next committee must inherit everything.
- Food is a core part of the event. Meals are planned per day and per slot, with dietary splits and capacity limits.
- Money arrives in many ways. Card payments, cash at the door, Zelle and cheques all have to reconcile.
- Everyone is a volunteer. The software has to be obvious to someone using it twice a year.
How Mandali is organized#
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Organization | Your committee or association. Everything in Mandali belongs to exactly one organization. |
| Member | A person in your organization. Each member has one role. |
| Season | One festival year, for example Durga Puja 2027. Days, meals, tickets and money belong to a season. |
| Day | A day or session within a season, with a date, times and a venue. |
| Meal slot | A meal served on a day, such as Saturday lunch, with prices, capacity and dietary options. |
| Ticket type | Something guests can buy, such as a season pass or a single-day entry. |
| Audit log | A permanent record of every change made by your committee. |
