How money works
Connect Stripe, the ledger and platform fees.

Your money goes to your account#
Each organization connects its own Stripe account. When a guest pays for a ticket or a meal, the payment is made directly to your committee's account. Mandali never holds your funds, and Stripe pays out to your committee's bank account on your schedule.
Only an Admin can connect the Stripe account. Treasurers can see its status.
Connect your Stripe account#
- Go to Payments in the sidebar and click Connect Stripe.
- Choose the country of the bank account that should receive payouts, then click Continue to Stripe.
- Stripe asks for your committee's details, a contact person and the bank account. It takes about 10 minutes, and you can stop and come back with Finish setup.
- When you're sent back to Mandali, the Payments page shows the status:
- Setup unfinished: Stripe still needs details. Click Finish setup.
- In review: Stripe is checking what you sent. This is usually quick, sometimes a day or two.
- Active: you can take card payments. Manage payouts, receipts and disputes in your own Stripe Dashboard.
If Stripe pauses payouts, the Payments page says so; open your Stripe Dashboard to see what it needs. If you remove Mandali from your Stripe account, the Payments page goes back to Not connected and your past records stay in the ledger.
One ledger for every payment method#
Every movement of money is written to the season's ledger:
- card payments and refunds from Stripe;
- cash, Zelle, Venmo and cheques recorded by a treasurer, with a reference (live now);
- expense reimbursements;
- Stripe processing fees and Mandali's platform fee.
Because everything lands in one place, the treasurer's report is a view of the ledger, not a spreadsheet exercise.

Stripe's standard processing fees apply to card payments and are shown separately in the ledger.
Controls#
- Prices are always calculated on Mandali's servers from your setup; a guest can't change what they pay.
- A payment is marked as paid only when Stripe confirms it.
- Refunds and manual payments are limited to treasurers and admins and are written to the audit log.
- A closed season's books are locked.
